Flea Market Finds >> 19

Last Friday, I was able to go to a couple estate sales. At the first sale, there wasn't anything I was interested in, except this awesome framed crewel embroidery piece from the 70s. I thought it would be over $20 but when I asked for a price, it was only $5, I quickly handed him the money and walked proudly off with my new art piece. The amazing thing is Chris likes this piece too! I thought for sure he'd hate it, but I guess our tastes are aligning even more now! ;)

Lately, I've been looking for old maps for some future craft projects. I couldn't pass up this 1962 map of San Francisco and the Peninsula! It looks like not much has changed since then!

These paint brouchures are filled with great images of 50/60s homes and the colors are so vibrant! I'm saving these to use in collages.

Finally, I haven't come across any seventeen magazines fromt he late 60s before. I thought there would be some interesting advertisements, fonts, and fashion! I quickly flipped through one and stumbled upon a twiggy ad, this is the 60s!

I love collecting vintage paper goods, it's so fun to be able to reuse it into something new! Speaking of re-using, it's the Portland Flea this weekend! Chris and I will have our new booth...Remnant! We are excited to get this year's sales in full swing. If you're in Portland, come on out! It's at Union/Pine from 10-4pm THIS SATURDAY, MAY 19TH!

Hi, I just came across this post of yours because I too have this exact crewel art! I just came from an estate sale here in Nashville and snatched that sucker right off the wall. I however paid $20 for mine. I will be doing a post about this on Monday so check out my blog sometime.
