Flea Market Finds >>> 03

Chris and I were able to squeeze in a quick visit to the North Portland Flea Market this past Sunday morning. We only stayed for less than 30 minutes, but I was able to find some treasure!
Another brass owl, pyrex with an interesting pattern, a 1900's book of mixed drinks, and a Native American cuff.

Here's a peek inside of the book.
Vintage glassware is really growing on me and it's fun to see these illustrations! It would be fun to find some of the matching glassware next!

Happy Monday!

My Day Job

When I'm not blogging here, or making things for myself and my etsy shop...You'll find me at Paper Source on NW 23rd. But the perk of my job is I still get to be crafty!

A few weeks ago, we had a staff meeting to make cards with just "layering" paper. It was a good exercise to limit our supplies, as sometimes it is easy to get crazy with all of the different tools that we are able use. I really enjoyed using just paper, punches, and tape runner to layer paper to make different shapes. I found it hard at first to figure out what to do as I usually design around a print or picture. I enjoyed just concentrating on the colors and the pattern the shapes created. The two photos on the right are my results and the bottom picture is all of the cards we made. I definitely want to try this again!

We make all of our window displays. It takes lots of work and planning, but I think the outcome is well worth it. The owls and wreaths are our current fall window, while we are currently working on the holiday window. This new window is another popular trend for right now....can you guess what it is?

owl really

I first met Jamie through a Flea Market Finds link party, and once I saw her blog and finds, I hoped we would be friends! She is a vintage finder and has a booth in the Tennessee Antique Mall and loves all things vintage! Check our her wedding post as they had a beautifully vintage wedding too!

We quickly began emailing back and forth, then she asked me to be featured on her Favorite Finds post. I'm honored that she would ask! Of course I said yes! Click here to check out my feature and Jamie's super fun blog! Thanks for having me Jamie!

Vintage Star Quilt

I promised more pictures and here they are! I made this one to sell, but I'm already starting on my second one. I'm using the pattern that Jen from In Color Order designed.

One of my favorite things about this quilt is the pattern that I quilted it in. Simple straight line sewing, but in a pattern that highlights the star! I struggled with deciding how to quilt it but I'm really happy with what I came up with!

Tuesday Treasury >> Winter Warmth

Today in Portland, the air is crisp and windy! The leaves are swirling around the grass, and the sun is shining! It's a beautiful fall day. I've rounded up some items for an Etsy Treasury that remind me of warmth. Enjoy!
