Our Anniversary!

Chris and I celebrate six years of marriage with a trip to Seattle. We always try and go somewhere for our anniversaries, usually somewhere close to where we live. So it's really fun that we have so many new locations to choose from. Here is a look back at our anniversaries:

1st - Los Angeles - 2006

2nd - Camping in San Diego & Catalina Island - 2007

3rd - Huntington Beach & Hotel Del Coronado - 2008

4th - Santa Cruz - 2009
Sadly, No Pictures! Most take more! :)

5th - Reno - 2010

6th - Seattle - 2011

After looking through all of our pictures, I decided we need to take more pictures of us!

Happy September!

I hope that you've missed me! I really have no good excuse for my absence, I've been looking for a fresh start and September 1st seemed the perfect fit! So I'm back and happy to be blogging again! :)

In celebration of returning to blogging from my break. I've posted lots of new cards on my Etsy site! Here is just a little sneak peak with a little bit about my inspiration. Click here to see them all!

In Portland (and everywhere), it's popular to "Put a Bird On It!" I found this fabric and loved all of the different birds! When I'm designing a card, I have to be inspired by the fabric. From there, I look for coordinating prints either from the colors in print or a contrasting color. This color palette spoke calm and happy greetings to me. I hope it does to you too!

Have you heard of the Pink Chalk Fabrics Monthly Solid Club? Each month, they send eight solids of coordinating fabric. Once July's fabrics arrived, I knew I needed to make a rainbow!

These fabrics are from Melody Miller, I love all of her fabric! I had a hard time cutting into it, so I only made these three cards, but I love them so much I'll be making more! One of the hardest things about making fabric cards is the limitations of the small space. So many fabrics have big patterns. These work  rarely work with cards. I love these vintage pieces however, they are spread out. I tried to make it work by just fussy cutting. Sewing these three together turned out just how I wanted! I'd love to add the perfect tea quote! Have you heard a good one?

I'm happy to be back!
Check back tomorrow, I'll post all about our anniversary trip to Seattle!

Success!

After much hard work, not much sleep, lots of errands, and of course much sewing, we assembled our booth! We were really thrilled with the location and how the booth looked. We received lots of compliments and people loved our stuff! It was a huge success and a perfect meld of Chris and I's talents together! Chris has been scouring estate and garage sales for the last two weeks and it's amazing what he's been able to find!

We are planning to participate in more fairs soon!
If you know of one that would be a good fit for us, let me know!

*Opps* Everyone oodled over the orange chair.
However, in looking up the proper spelling, I've discovered I've used the word incorrectly! Oh well, you get the idea, everyone loved the chair and booth! ;)

I'm excited to get back to blogging, now that I'm not spending every waking extra minute sewing cards!

yummy eats {03}

Chris and I have been working hard to limit our eating out excursions for two reasons: save money and to eat much more healthy. We've been doing pretty well, but we still love to eat out. So once a week, we will eat out and make it fun, but not more than that! I'm excited as it is forcing me to cook more and I'm enjoying it! Well, this past weekend, Chris had been hearing great things about Dick's Kitchen. It's on Belmont in a pretty hip neighborhood.
Basically, it was the uber Portlandia experience. If you haven't seen this clip from the show, watch it!
Also, lately, Portlandia seems to be all around us! We have stumbled across the show while they have been filming twice now! Chris was even able to watch a scene for awhile and talked to a few of the film guys. ;)

Maybe Chris and I will make an excursion to Carman Ranch! ;)

Happy Wednesday!
